
As world cup is nearing in the Asian subcontinents, ICC visited all the venues in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to check the preparedness for the mega event of cricket. Out of all the venues it visited, it has conveyed displeasure over the construction progress of Eden Gardens stadium. One of the world’s famous venue Eden Gardens was planned to host a match between India and England in the first week of March. But ICC felt that the construction progress of stadium was not upto the mark and they have conveyed that Eden Gardens is as of now not fit to host the world cup match. The cricket chief of West Bengal has asked for 1 week extension of the deadline which is yet to be given a nod by ICC.
